| #177339910Monday, November 02, 2015 12:33 AM GMT A few days ago, like many users of this site, Avast began causing problems (before you start posting read the whole thing) by blocking Roblox. This had happened to me months ago and it resolved itself in a day, so I wasn't overly concerned. After it didn't go away, I took some measures to try and fix the problem by adding Roblox to the exclusions list, restoring it from my virus chest, changing the application rules for the firewall, and flagging Roblox as safe. Nothing. So, after a day I tried going to a game and Avast made no comments about Roblox being a virus or saying that it got blocked, but when I tried to go to a game all I get is the Error 17 connection problem message. To speed this up and so I don't get posts telling me to do what I already did, here's an overview of what I tried:(From the Roblox help page)"A lot of antivirus or internet security software tries to control which programs can access the internet...The easiest thing to try is just turning your internet firewall software off, to see if that allows you to join games"Turned off Avast's firewall, nothing. I also did a few "home" remedies that I found by snooping around the forums and YT.My apologies for the length of this post, I want to give as much details as possible to get to the root of this. At this point I can't tell if its Avast or Roblox that is causing the problem. Also, OS is Windows 7.I'd rather not contact Roblox if I have to, considering that the times I've 'mailed tech support in the past all I've gotten is a copy pasted response (even after "Builderman" himself said something along the lines of "don't worry, we'll help you and not send you an automated message" after my younger self pleaded them not to.) If no one on here can figure it out I'll resort to that if necessary. I really hate Avast, I switched to Malwarebytes, not only because of it blocking ROBLOX, but it blocks almost everything I have on my PC. But, you should try disabling Windows Firewall. After that, do a system defrag, and clear your cookies. Ok, so now that we have that out of the way, I would advise you do some checking around in your other Anti-Virus. Although it has never given you trouble before, ROBLOX can sometimes release updates that cause your Anti-Virus to go nuts. So, you said you Un-Installed ROBLOX and Re-Installed it, make sure you delete ALL ROBLOX files, and also Un-Install ROBLOX studio (not your game files). After that, completely Re-Install ROBLOX again. If none of that worked, I would give it a few days, the issue may resolve itself.| HTML | Ruby | Java Script | Python | - 10 minutes before
